They have bell hops in Vegas that take care of that type of thing for you.

65 is a lot of LB's. What exactly is a platypus, or will we find out later?

A platypus is a collapsible and light weight dromedary. It carries 2 liters of water which can then fill up two Nalgenes.

Extra shoe laces; I would never have thought to bring that. Also, what is a Nalgenes?

Evan,
I think Nalgenes are water bottles made of a rugged, non-leaching, plastic material.

Nalgenes are particularly useful because they are built to be compatible with water filters. Some water filters screw directly onto the top when the cap is off, others have an adapter that fits into the mouth of the Nalgene. They also serve as good hot water bottles for tea, coffee, cocao etc if you aren't worrying too much about getting cancer.
