Cutting Room Floor

After Rocky Balboa defeats Ivan Drago a lone Russian Government Official enthusiastically stands up to applaud. Noticing the rest of the Russian crowd's applause the balance of the Officials are shown reluctantly standing to applaud. Rocky is interviewed by the Russian Ring announcer.

Rocky Balboa: I just want to say one thing to my kid who should be at home sleeping. Merry Christmas kid! I love you!

Cut to Rocky Jr watching at home with friends. Rocky Jr mouths back silently to television "I love you too". Russian Ring Announcer translates. Cut to Clubber Lang watching at home.

Clubber Lang: USA delivers pain!

During the development of The Nightmare Before Christmas Tim Burton approached Axl Rose to score original music for the film. While there was a temporary alignment of these creative forces things became untenable when Axl insisted upon designing all of the costumes for and choreographing all scenes featuring Jack Skellington.

...but he wasn't finished. With the assistance of intrepid family lawyers Daniel Plainview was able to avoid any jail time for his murder of Eli Sunday. Following the trial Daniel decided to create what became an extremely popular oil company themed children's amusement park in northern California. While Daniel enthusiastically proposed that the park include a bowling alley, family lawyers successfully intervened.

Apparently when The Brothers Strause first screened of the director's cut of AVPR the Fox executives threw a fit and insisted on reshooting an alternate ending. The script sums up the original ending in this way.

The last surviving predator challenges the last surviving alien to a game of Ms Pac-Man. Walter Day and Billy Mitchell stand watch as impartial referees. Let the end game begin.

LOG (11/13/08)

LOG + Bonus LOG.
(In addition to this weeks LOG, I've added a very special Halloween episode of LOG. I thought I'd make this a double feature as Halloween is over and yet, I still wanted to use up this drawing).

Through tireless negotiation I've been granted unprecidented access to Hollywood's film vaults. My hope is that with this project I can give fans, film students and filmmakers insight into the creative process of film editing by showing film clips that for whatever reason got left on the cutting room floor.

This comic features actual comments that have been over heard in our cubical jungle. The phrases have not been altered, but the context in which they were said has been.

LOG (11/06/08)

What do you need to know about my new comic?
Well...
Log gets a job at a printing company...
That is all.

So yeah, maybe this isn't the funniest way to kick off the new comic, but hey, I need to do some level of character development.

The Black Lumberjack

Black Lumberjack is my new comic strip. Here's a little background about Black Lumberjack...He was born in the woods of Jackson, Mississippi. His age is unknown. He's traveled from small town to small town, picking up various logging jobs as he goes along. Now he has ended up in Chicago, a large metro. This comic shows how he adjusts to his new life in the big city.
