The Black Lumberjack

Black Lumberjack drives until dark, he pulls onto a narrow dirt road which leads him miles deep into the woods.

He comes up to this log cabin, and pulls around the back and squeezes into a beat up tool shed. He jumps out the truck and slides an old tarp over it. He goes inside the cabin. There are pictures all around, just cruel recollections, reminding him of better times. He goes into the kitchen and finds an old bottle of whiskey in the cabinet. He then goes and plops down on an old couch, sneezing hysterically because of the dust that arises from it.

He picks up a picture from the table next to him and wipes it off.
"Hmmm", he laughs. It was a picture of him holding a large axe with a ribbon on it. He remembers the day that Tonya gave him the Axe as a gift. She knew that he loved being a Lumberjack. Cutting down trees was his passion, and she loved that about him. "Now I can finally finish that old tool shed" he had told her.

Black Lumberjack loved Tonya; she was the best thing that ever happened to him. He often wondered how a simple man like himself could end up with such an amazing woman. She was a socialite from the city. He met her 4 years ago at a bar in the city while he was out with his Lumberjack buddies celebrating at a bachelor's party. He happened to see her at the bar, sat down next to her and introduced himself. She was attracted to him. She had come to this bar plenty of times, and most guys were too intimidated to even approach her. What made him so different, she wondered?

The old whiskey finally wins over Black Lumberjack, the empty bottle hits the floor and he falls asleep.

I didn't realize how deep he was, I just thought he was some bad dude chopin' sh*t up.

the story line reminds me a little of 'casablanca' or those other film noir movies.

What makes the lumberjack black? His story is universal. I can't remember the number of times I went into a cabin and drank myself to sleep, and I am seriously color impaired.
